Friday afternoon, at the movies

Brad Pitt, as you probably heard, is going to star in the adaptation of one of the great books of Western Civilization -- Moneyball.

Oh, and he's also starring in an adaptation of some book called The Odyssey. That book is pretty good too, despite having only one Homer.

The crazy part is that it's still seems more scalable than the plans for a Don Cherry biopic. Also, not that anyone asked, but of the four Michael Lewis books that sit on my shelf, Moneyball seems like it would be the toughest to adapt into a film script when compared to Liar's Poker, The New New Thing and The Blind Side. The latter would be the role of a lifetime -- what actor could physically carry off the role of 6-foot-5, 350-lb. Michael Oher and actually be able to act too?

All Your Base Are Belong To Rios suggests John Turturro for the minor role of J.P. Ricciardi. Would J.P. then reprise his role as "Fan At The Bar" from Fever Pitch?
