Slap Shot star chirping Sennies

Steve Carlson of Slap Shot fame (and Slap Shot 2: Breaking The Ice infamy) took a swipe at the Ottawa Senators; please don't shoot the messenger.
I have a problem in the last five or six years one of the top teams in the NHL talent wise, man for man, talent wise has been Ottawa. Why do they get beat out the first round all the time? They have so many of these players that when they get beat out of the playoffs, they go back and play in the World Cup tournament. They go and play for their country." -- The 7th Woman
Come on, Steve, don't be a hater. Some day Canadian hockey players will be able to nuture twin dreams of the Stanley Cup and winning a gold medal at the world championship. In that sense, Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza, are just early adopters, pioneers.

Also, there's the small matter of that team in Detroit which had seven players who were able to take the Cup home to Scandinavia. What about that?

Incidentally, does everyone know there's a possibility that Slap Shot will be remade? (It's been rumoured; Kevin Smith said

I only had 45 minutes to interview him... I'm sure we would have gotten around to Detroit too. :o)
