"There are a lot of independent teams out there,” said Nottle, "but this is an unbelievable situation. We're playing in a Triple-A ballpark (Ottawa Stadium is the largest facility in the league) in a gorgeous city. Now, I guarantee you, it's 'Hockeyville,' but we've got a good base of fans."
The man has a vitality about him (this is based on one press conference and one face-to-face meeting) that would put a lot of people half his age to shame. Here's hoping the Rapidz' record will match the skipper's energy sooner rather than later; that 11-8 win over Worcester on Sunday (with more than 2,000 on hand on The Zip despite gadawful humidity) was an encouraging sign.
The Brockton Rox, incidentally, are having Ed Nottle Bobblehead Night on Thursday.
