LYNX: ROBERSON RAINES ON EXPOS DAY...

Chris Roberson shrugged of the yoke of some recent baserunning errors to come through with a semi Tim Raines-like game for the Lynx on Tribute To The Expos Day, stealing two bases driving in the tying run and scoring the game-winner on a Brennan King hit in the last of the 10th to secure the 3-2 win (boxscore, play-by-play) over Rochester.

Recognizing the Expos was a masterstroke, as the Lynx had a decent crowd of 3,374 out, showing that nos amours still have a hold on people even if the team is no longer a going concern. Dusty Wathan scored the first two runs, while Brian Sanches got the win with two shutout innings of relief, and the Lynx pulled off

Thanks again to Riley Denver from the Lynx front office for putting us in touch with Dennis (Oil Can) Boyd and to Carl Kiiffner at Ottawa Lynx Blog for hooking us up with some art.

Right-hander Landon Jacobsen (1-3, 4.74, 1.42 WHIP) will start vs. Red Wings lefty Brian Duensing (6-2, 3.28, 1.33 WHIP) in Game 1 of tomorrow's 12:05 doubleheader. Ottawa's Game 2 starter is TBA; lefty Joe Sawatski (4-3, 4.50, 1.52 WHIP at Double-A New Britain) goes for the Red Wings. Yes, it's crazy they played a six-game series; it's almost like the days when the Pacific Coast League had a team in Honululu.
