Whoever in the Phillies hierarchy was behind moving Lynx catcher Jason Jaramillo into the 3-hole knew what they were doing: He was on base six times in 11 plate appearances across the two-game sweep of the ScranYanks, singling and scoring the clinching run in today's 4-3 win (box, play-by-play) at the Stadium.
The Lynx had the "Flying J's" going today. Along with Jaramillo, or JJ, Joe Thurston has now been on base 11 of his last 15 times up and lefty J.A. Happ went six strong innings to get his first win, although his scoreless skein was snapped at 13 innings when the ScranYanks worked Jamal Strong around the bases in the third inning without hitting a ball out of the infield.
