LEAFS, RAPTORS TOGETHER IN WOE

So who did more to harsh a Toronto sports fan's mellow last night -- that sandbagger Reggie Evans (pictured) by taking out Chris Bosh or the Buffalo Sabres by taking out the Leafs?

OK, so it's not even really a comparison. No beat writer is going to say it since they still need to get their post-game quotes for 2-3 more weeks, but the Leafs look done after blowing a three-goal, third-period lead and losing 5-4. It was the same old story, same old song and dance: The Leafs couldn't finish early and stretch the lead until the third, and Andrew Raycroft was just OK when they needed something special.

Then there were the Raptors. That 72-point first half -- man, in the Kevin O'Neill era, 72 was a good three-quarter total for Toronto -- was more about the Nuggets having nothing left in the tank after playing Chicago Thursday. Nevertheless, the 121-94 laugher was tempered since Bosh limped off with a sore ankle after coming down on Evans' foot after taking a jumper.

Did Evans do it on purpose so Bosh might land awkwardly and hurt himself? Maybe so, maybe not, but if it runs like a dirty baller and has been caught on camera squeezing the nuggets of the Clippers' Chris Kaman like a dirty baller, then you tell me.

Try to look on the bright side, eh? The Raptors have reached the point where they're good enough that teams have to mess with them.

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
