Imagine what the reactionaries on sports radio shows (especially the syndicated programs from teh U.S. that air in Canada late at night) are going to say. You can probably count on some rant about how playing in the Super Bowl is a privilege, and Johnson forfeited that privilege when he was arrested last month on six counts of possessing an unlicensed gun while already on probation over a 2005 incident. Under due process, though, there's really nothing that can be done to keep Johnson from travelling within the United States as part of the work, so end of story.
There'll still be some ranting, since the story about Michael Vick being detained at the airport is getting staler than a three-day-old bagel since it turns out he didn't have any weed.
OTHER BUSINESS
- A hockey card store in Kingston was robbed of autographed sweaters from Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and Bobby Orr -- valued at $4,000 Cdn. Damn.
That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
