RICKY WILLIAMS' LATEST MISDIRECTION PLAY

No one who knows how to read a book completely dislikes Ricky Williams. There, I said it.

Go ahead, make your joke that any interest Ricky has in remaining an Argo stems from hearing people in Toronto asking each other, "How about those Buds?"

Anyway, Ricky's running a misdirection again on his plans for next season. There was some more video on him yesterday neither confirming or denying an earlier report that he was interested in staying north of the border with the Toronto Argonauts, the CFL team yours truly supports, mostly out of geographical convenience. Meantime, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel says his agent, Leigh Steinberg, said he would honour his agreement to return to the Dolphins in 2007.

It's remote, but we wouldn't be surprised at all if Williams stays -- it's been talked about since late August. Of course, as far as Ricky loving three-down Canadian ball goes, my friend Keith probably nailed it back in August when he said, "I'll believe it when Ricky plays for Saskatchewan or Hamilton."

We stand by Ricky, since he wears that Argo double blue, and we know what it's like for being quote, unquote different and refusing to be what people expect you to be. Besides, just look at the type of intellects who take up sides against him -- it's usually someone such as Joe (Stupid Joe) Theismann or Rogers Sportsnet's Mike Toth, who's now fancying himself a journalism professor.

Previously:
Ricky's rambling, and gopher baroque in Calgary (Nov. 3)
Ricky's Canadian vacation a possible permanent stop (Aug. 24)

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
