Just try not to act too surprised.

Via icethetics, this is what the Senators' third jersey is supposed to be look like.

Try to do a better job of looking surprised than that young woman in the commercial where she's already using the cell phone she is supposed to be getting for Christmas. You know those commercials -- the ones with the five kids you'd all like to see get savaged with a meathook. Don't mention which company, you'll only encourage them.

Will Jason Spezza be a Senator long enough to get more than one wear out of his? The mind reels.

Check out the logo on the sleeves - if you look carefully, you can tell it is the old Senators logo, not the new one. This may or may not be what the jersey turns out to be, but one thing is for sure - this is a Photoshop job, and not any kind of original photo.

Icethetics is a credible source, Dennis, and when I looked at the photo it appeared to be the crest the Senators introduced in 2007 -- the centurion's head rises above the top of the crest, rather than being inside its radius.

That girl IS rather annoying - soft on the eyes, which keeps her ahead of that zoom zoom kid...but not by much ;)

Spezza isn't going anywhere. Most teams are snug up against the cap, and his contract is too big. Any trades would involve players like Kelly, Vermette, or Schubert, guys with good upside and cap friendly contracts. (The Senators would love to get their hands on Matthias Ohlund from the Canucks, and these are some of the names beign bandied about in return.)

Here's one to disregard: Heatley and Spezza to the Wild for Gaborik and the young goalie, Backstrom.

If Alex Auld keeps playing as he has been of late, goaltending is no longer Ottawa's problem. He is 8th overall in goals against and 9th in save percentage on a losing team. Auld has been the one bright light in a dismal season to date.
