BREAKING: Martin Brodeur out for three months

The chase for the all-time NHL shut-out and wins record has been put on pause. Martin Brodeur is out for about three months. He is facing elbow surgery.

It's pretty clear Kevin Weekes isn't a long-term answer. It will be interesting to see if the Devils try to go out to get a stop-gap...Dwayne Roloson?

I think Kevin Weekes is a better goalie than you give him credit for.
It's tough to be Martin Brodeur's understudy...kind of like the NHL's version of the Maytag repairman, seldom if ever needed.
Well, they need him now, and last night's 2-0 loss wasn't his fault clearly.
Tough to win if you can't score.
Only question is, can he carry that Brodeur-like workload?
Probably not, and that's where an experienced goalie is needed.
