Look for the Calais '14 bid soon

It appears that the long desired Southern Ontario World Junior tournament is going to take place in 2011.

Fans will just need a passport to go to the games.

The tournament is already in Canada every other year. Now, it appears that every third year the requirements are "be within three feet of the Canadian border."

I look forward to the feeling of self-satisfaction that Canadians from coast to coast will have as we watch Team Canada win gold three years from now in a packed Buffalo rink full of drunk guys wearing big red and white Afro wigs. It's a Christmas tradition, after all.

I wonder if Team Canada will get all of the home ice advantages in Buffalo that they get here? In Canada, our guys get the nicest tournament draw, the best rinks to play at, the best times, the hotel closest to the rink, and even the biggest dressing room in the building. Canada still has to go out and play the games, of course, but our kids sure aren't hurting for comfort while they do it.

Well...they will get the most important advantage. NHL size rinks.
