He's like Yoda, only obsessed with on-base percentage

This post will become a full-bodied Zen Dayley, but first off: Mike Wilner wrote that on this, the final day of the season, "all that’s left is for ... (Vernon) Wells to try to take Jeremy Guthrie deep twice to have the Jays avid the ignominy of going through a full season without having a single player hit 20 homers."

Well, what do you know: Wells homered off the Orioles' Guthrie in the first inning, and homered again in the fifth to become the only Jay to hit 20 moon shots this season. It didn't happen quite the way Wilner called it, since the second homer was off Alfredo Simon, who's neither as good nor memorable as Alfredo Griffin or Simon & Garfunkel.

You know who else had 20 homers this year? Eric Hinske.
