More George Carlin...

George Carlin talks baseball. It's the best of both worlds.

"Baseball has that great renewal thing, you know. I mean, it's a promise every spring, just like the way nature's renewing itself in the spring. I hate to get poetic about sports -- I don't like it when I read it -- but it's true. It's just everything -- there's another chance, we got another shot. You don't feel that, basketball and football, it's true of them, but you don't get that same buildup."
(Can you imagine any sports show today allowing a guest to get away saying this? "You can judge your drug-abuse years by not knowing who was in the World Series." It's just another reminder of how bland society is becoming.)
