Burned into the retinas...

Some anonymous editor at The Score deserves to take a victory lap around the studio today.

During a clip on Trevor Linden's retirement announcement, it ran a string of about eight or nine shots from his playing career. In every single one of them, Linden was wearing a different uniform -- but each one belonged to the Vancouver Canucks.

It's not a news flash that the Canucks have changed their uniforms quite often. By unofficial count, Linden would have worn 12 home and away sweaters across the 16 seasons he played in Vancouver. Rihanna should have had so many costume changes.
Crazy. Until last night, the memory of the Canucks' red third jersey from the mid-'90s had almost been erased. Looks like it's going to take more electroshock therapy.

Bring back the yellow tri-coloured Vs.

That is all.

Haha, I liked that red third jersey (I presume you mean the skate one). Interestingly enough, they've had two red third jerseys over the years: the bright red one with the skate logo, and a darker red one with the orca logo (which I still own).

Somewhere at my parents' house, no doubt, there's still a black Canucks sweater from 1990 ... this was when the Leafs and I were "on a break."

To be fair, if you start counting from the 1989 season, the Jays have had 11 different jerseys... they've had three distinct looks, each one with a blue or black jersey... the change to the road greys and the powder-blue throwbacks added for this season give them 11.

That's not even counting different cap-and-shirt combos.

Burn the black jersey.

That is all.

I almost did while setting off fireworks on Victoria Day 1990.

Really.
