CIS CORNER: CATCHING UP WITH COACHES

A couple notes on our teams of interest in The 613...
  • Gaels: Former Queen's and Kingston hockey coach Fred O'Donnell, the only man alive to have ever coached the Tricolour to a league championship (back in 1981), was the subject of a Hockey News feature (written by none other than Neil Acharya).
  • Gee-Gees: There's little surprise in hearing that Carlos Brown will not be back with the U of O women's basketball program after nearly going winless in the OUA East last season; losing four players, including a talent such as Moriah Trowell, before the start of the conference season spoke volumes.

Programs go through lean years, but it wasn't that long ago that the Gee-Gees won the OUA East in the 2004-05. On the women's side, now it's Carleton which has the much brighter future in hockey and hoops. What's happened?
