Deadspin has their Toronto Blue Jays preview up as of 20 minutes ago. The point gets made: If the Jays can win 88-92 games and be in the mix deep in September, that's enough.
Meantime, if you meet The Tao of Stieb over the next couple days (that's their screengrab, by the way), take them out for a coffee.
"Let the other dumb bastards miss the point by acting like the playoffs is the be-all, end-all. If it happens, it happens. Right now, knowing there's another slightly above average Blue Jays team taking shape down in the Florida sun is just enough to get through the last weeks of the Canadian winter."Much obliged t0 Will Leitch for posting this on the shared birthday of Kathie Sager and Amer Murad, the Official Mother and Brother-In-Law of Out of Left Field.

Awesome work Neate. Good to read a preview that wasn't a tear-stained testament to the writer's steadfast fandom.
No. Really. We're, like, totally happy for you. Honest.
*sniff*
I didn't like your preview, to be honest. You spent most of it sounding incredibly angry and ranting against Rogers (as much as it may be deserved). You paid very little, if any, attention to the team itself.
You dropped the ball, Neate.
Well, sir, it's a far better thing to drop the ball while seeing your byline at Deadspin than dropping the ball by leaving that kind of comment on a much less popular blog -- and not even having the couth and consideration to put your name to it.
Rest assured, receiving praise from a writer of Will Leitch's stature matters a lot more to me than someone lobbing darts from behind a firewall.
Surely you have a lot going for you and don't need to do this. You're better than that. Be grateful you're better than that.
Now, please, if you're at such a loss as to where to get a Jays fix, head to Chapters and buy a couple baseball preview magazines. People get paid fairly well to put together that information.
I just get 15 minutes of Internet fame for informing Deadspinners about what it's like to be a Blue Jays fan in 2008. With God as my witness, the only emotion informing that post was to write a post that Mr. Leitch would put on the website. Judging from his reaction and what most readers have said, nothing you say can take that way from me.
Nice try, though.
