Adnan Virk, a good ol' Kingston boy and graduate of Ernestown Secondary School (go Eagles!), is going to be in a lot more living rooms very soon.
The Score has signed a deal to do the sportscasts for Global News Ontario and Virk has been tapped to do the weekend updates, which sounds like a not half-bad deal for both him and his bosses. This brings on-air talents such as Virk, Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro to more people who might not have The Score on a basic cable package, and if it's part of any of them catching on at the CBC or one of the two bigger sports networks in Canada, all the better.
There's the obvious question of who the hell still relies on a 6 p.m. newscast to get their sports fix, but that's neither here nor there.

Especially the 6:00 p.m. from CKWS, Kingston - we just got it on our dish. It is brutal, just horrid.
Could be worse...ever see the sportscasts from Terrace, Prince Rupert or Fort St. John....
Then again, Global Ontario needed to do something that might draw viewers to them...goodness knows every show they carry, people can watch on the available US stations, without the annoying Canadian commercials.
Oh...I forgot one other horrible broadcast...Global Saskatoon....ESTHER, the sweater vest look went out with your hairdo....

Hey, the next person to say a bad word about the CKWS sports guys -- Jeffries, Posto, Mark Potter back in the day -- will be the first.
Classic Potter-ism ... Kingston had the Block D boondoggle where they excavated a prime piece of downtown property and then it sat empty for years and years... Mark suggested that it could be a new home for the Frontenacs "since they're used to playing in the basement."
