The Red Sox finally pulled the pin on Coco Crisp as their starting centre-fielder -- rookie Jacoby Ellsbury will start tonight's do-or-die game against the Cleveland Indians. The move probably came at least two games too late.
Boston's, uh, constancy, with the unproductive bottom third of its lineup was highlighted after Game 3. Ellsbury can't do any worse than Crisp (3-for-21, six strikeouts, plus a failure to lay down a bunt in Game 5) has across the first five games against Cleveland. Having Ellsbury, a lefty-hitting speedster, is not bad to have going up against righty sinkerballer Fausto Carmona.
