CAN'T SPELL 'SHEER FACADE' WITHOUT C-S-A

The Canadian Soccer Association bidding for the 2011 women's World Cup is akin to:
  1. Buying rims for a car that needs a new transmission;
  2. Declaring war, but cutting veterans' benefits;
  3. Giving a Slingbox to a starving family;
  4. All of the above.

It's moot since Germany will get the tournament, but why do sports administrators in this country set ourselves up this way? The CSA has too many issues to squander time and resources on bidding for another FIFA world tournament.
