SOCCER: WATCH OUT FOR THE MATILDAS

Canada dropped its World Cup opener today in China to a familiar nemesis, Norway, 2-1. The game was played at 7:30 Eastern time this morning. Granted, some people have a body clock that actually lets them rise around that time. We haven't been one of those people since high school.

What's kind of irksome is that it's seven hours after the game and there isn't much information out there on the Internet except the blow-by-blow, who-scored-and-who-caused-it report from the wire service. CBC says it has blogs, but none have been updated since the game ended almost seven hours ago. This might mean staying up on all night next week for Canada's final group game against Australia, which will almost certainly be for a spot in the quarter-finals.
