LYNX: A SANDOVAL SEND-OFF

The last weekend for the Lynx started off right -- Danny Sandoval hit a walk-off double with two out in the 10th for a 5-4 win (boxscore, play-by-play) over Syracuse last night.

The Thurston watch: Joe hit a three-run homer, but that was his only hit. His stats-padding continues, with his on-base plus slugging (OPS) up in the .785 range. Gary Burnham (no RBI tonight, still two shy of the club record) has about an .840 OPS, but Thurston makes up for that with his defence. Plus, pound for pound, .785 from a 2-hole hitter beats .840 from the cleanup man, so to answer the question posed by C.K. at Ottawa Lynx Blog, Joe's our man for MVP.

The hope here is to get out either Saturday or Sunday and say one last goodbye to the team.
