SCORE A BIG ONE FOR LEO'S LADS

If a certain someone (that'd be you, Sager)* was paying closer attention there would have been a post up much earlier noting Canada's comeback basketball win last night over a strong Puerto Rico squad -- in San Juan and in overtime. Nicely done.

Mark Wacyk at cishoops.ca has more on what has to viewed as a big step forward for Leo Rautins' program. There's a little more reason for a Canuck hoops fan to watch next week's Olympic qualifying tournament in Las Vegas, even though Chris Bosh has left the U.S. squad.

Canada's opener is Wed., Aug. 22 at 8:30 Eastern vs. Brazil, on The Score. The network is also airing Canada's games the next two nights vs. Venezuela and the U.S. Virgin Islands, which each tip off at 6 p.m. in the East. Oh, and just by reading this, you are contractually obligated to watch at least one of those games.

(* This can also be blamed on using the parental units' dial-up Internet -- really -- all week.)
