LYNX: SO MUCH NICER TO WRITE ABOUT A 'W'

Cleanup man Gary Burnham ended up with a rarely seen 1-2-0-0 batting line in tonight's slump-snapping 6-5 Lynx win (boxscore, play-by-play) over the Paw Sox: He walked three times (once intentionally) and also got a hit-by-pitcher, so he was on base four times in five times at bat. That should push his on-base percentage back above .400 on the season.

Burnham was in the middle of a bunch of guys who contributed to the Lynx scoring in four straight innings to wipe out Pawtucket's early 4-o lead. Jason Jaramillo hit the game-winning homer off Edgar Martinez in the seventh and Chris Roberson and Pedro Swann chased started David Pauley with earlier dingers.

Matt Childers (five earned runs over six) received credit for the win and Yoel Hernandez nailed it down with a 1-2-3 ninth for his fourth save, striking out Pawtucket's Ed Rogers in an eight-pitch duel for the all-important first out. Jim Rushford was 3-for-5 with three RBI.
