STILL HAVING A BETTER FRIDAY THAN CONRAD BLACK

The good news for Team Canada is today's 81-58 loss to Turkey at the the FIBA under-19 worlds probably won't prevent them from advancing to the second round.

Only one team in each pool gets eliminated. Nigeria (0-2) has a tall order to avoid being the odd team out. The Nigerians' only hope is to blow out Turkey tomorrow by abut 25 points, so they would be ahead on point differential if those teams and Canada each end up 1-2. Canada is only minus-1 (22-point win, 23-point loss), so they're in good shape, and hey, no worries if they knock off Australia.

Mark Wacyk at cishoops.ca has a full game report. Boris Bakovic was a bright spot for Canada with a double-double, 14 points and 10 rebounds.
