Veteran outfielder Adam Stern, the pride of Port Stanley, Ont., has been a Lynx killer the past two nights. The former Red Sock had two steals and a run scored Norfolk's easy 3-0 win tonight (boxscore, play-by-play), to go along with a two-run effort on Thursday.
Along with the Canadian's contributions, the Tides were paced by an Australian with left-hander Craig Anderson, a one-time Lynx, firing seven innings of two-hit shutout ball to earn credit for the win. He only allowed two runners past first base and one of those was on a throwing error. Positives for the Lynx: Jason Anderson threw three no-hit, no-run innings in relief and Chris Roberson had a stolen base and threw out a runner at the plate.
There will likely be more scoring in today's 1:05 tilt, a pitching matchup of lefty J.A. Happ (1-3, 4.97, 1.64 WHIP) against veteran Tides righty Tim Kester (6-8, 6.04, 1.48), who's been racked for a .311 average by International League batters this season.
