LYNX: HOT DOG, A WIN

Anderson Garcia kept his scoreless string going for the pitching-hungry Lynx in tonight's 4-3 win in Toledo (boxscore, play-by-play) which snapped two streaks, getting the final six outs for the save, including the final one with the tying run on second base. He's now thrown 13 2/3 scoreless innings across his last eight outings.

Charlie Weatherby III

went five innings for the win and each of the top five hitters either had a run scored or RBI. Meantime, Carl Kiiffner at Ottawa Lynx Blog has a good piece about the Phillies kind of jerking around left-hander J.A. Happ... listing him as a starting pitcher while they scramble to trade for a pitcher.

Little public-service announcement here: Tuesday's home game vs. the ScranYanks marks the first 25-Cent Hot Dog Night, with local media chowing down for various charities. Fans can donate money to support their favourite eater, plus there's a silent auction. Good times.

It coincidences with a FIFA Under-20 World Cup doubleheader at Frank Clair Stadium, but will there be 25-cent dogs there for the Czechs against the North Koreans?
