PLUS THEY HAVE THE SAME FIRST NAME!

It was a pretty heady night for guys who once skated at the Henderson Arena in Amherstview.

At the Memorial Cup in Vancouver, Andrew Fournier scored 4:19 into overtime to keep his Plymouth Whalers alive in the national junior championship with a 2-1 victory over Lewiston. Meantime, the Anaheim Ducks and Andy McDonald, who spent some of his formative years in the Kingston area, are headed to the Stanley Cup final vs. the Ottawa Senators after

Fournier, who's in his 20-year-old season, is a free agent, as The Whig's Doug Graham noted before the Memorial Cup opened. He's had three game-winning goals during the post-season, so optimistically speaking, someone in the pros has noticed.

By the way, an Ottawa-Anaheim final is essentially the O.C. (Ottawa-Carleton) vs. The O.C., even if the Fox teen drama has gone the way of our regional government.
