- This was the team's luck evening out after Friday's "MoPete miracle" in D.C. vs. the Wizards. T.J. Ford (2-for-13) had a three-ball to tie the game that was halfway down the chute and shot out of the cylinder. It's not much to cry over unless the lads fail to complete the road trip with wins over Orlando on Wednesday and Friday vs. Philly.
- Juan Dixon showed us why he's Juan Dixon. First quarter, he had a trey from the left corner blocked when he should have up-faked Eddie Jones into the fourth row. The Heat recovered, ran the floor (yes, it surprised me too) and Jones canned a three of his own for a six-point swing.
- We could get to like Luke Jackson, but don't the Raptors have enough left-handers already?
- It was slipping away before that second quarter from hell. A 30-point defensive quarter vs. the walk-it-up Heat is just bad. As for that 5-for-24 shooting in the second. Miami went to a zone to help save Shaq's legs and keep him from having to chase Rasho Nesterović around and the Raptors didn't fight through -- they settled for passing it around with not much alacrity, and usually that leads to a lot of bricks.
- The Wizards were blown out by 20 against craptacular Charlotte last night, so yes, there's one reason why the Raptors want to play those guys in the 3 vs. 6 quarter-final.
That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
