LYNX GO TO THE MATT

The Lynx and Phillies moved some left-handed relievers around: Fabio Castro is headed back to the big club, while Matt Smith is coming down for some fine-tuning after having some early-season control problems in Philadelphia (11 walks in four innings).

Phuture Phillies, which is dedicated to covering Philadelphia's farm system, sponsors Smith's baseball-reference.com page, calling him the "crown jewel" of last summer's Bobby Abreu trade. A couple months back, Phillies Baseball said Smith "is already a quality major league relief pitcher." In the short run, Smith, who's from Las Vegas, should see a fair bit of work. The Phillies have something invested in him, while Eude Brito's injury leaves the Lynx with just one lefty out in the bullpen.

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
