WORLD JUNIORS: CANADA 4, RUSSIA 2

Work commitments prevented a liveblog for the world junior final,so just a quick note that Canada won, beating the Russians 4-2 on the strength of a three-goal blitz in the first period.

Hockey blogger nonpareil James Mirtle has a game thread going. Go bother him. Not that you'd believe it, but during some post-birthday revelry drunk-calling last night, a friend put me on the spot to pick a score and I slurred, "4-2, Canada." Thankfully, that's the only kind of wasted talent you saw today -- Canada was simply good when it mattered most.

Wonder what kind of reception goalie Carey Price will get when he gets back to his junior club, the Tri-City Americans in Washington state.
