MEDIA TYPES GET AROUND

Your daily reminder of how hard it is to get a foothold in sports media: Just saw a note in Don Brennan's column in today's Ottawa Sun that David Bastl, who'd been holding The Score's Senators/Canadiens beat, is leaving to take a job in Toronto at Rogers Sportsnet.

Bastl is getting a Phd in Canadian geography: In the past past 2 1/2 years or so he's been The Score's Calgary correspondent while Deb Matejicka was on maternity leave, and before that he was a sports anchor at Global in Winnipeg. All the best to him.
