I SAY POTATO, YOU SAY POPADICS

Boise State tailback Ian Johnson got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Broncos cheerleader Chrissy Popadics, in the aftermath of his team's upset of the Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl last night.

There's no way that the announcement of a Popadics-Johnson wedding doesn't end up on Leno. Go ahead, sound it out.

If you reverse Johnson's initials, I.J., you get J.I. --Jarome Iginla. Could it be a coincidence that both are non-threatening black athletes who play in Boise and Calgary, a pair of lily-white cowtowns?

Also, if you couldn't enjoy the Fiesta Bowl, where Boise State used a triptych of trick plays to upset Oklahoma 43-42 in overtime, you either really have a complex built up about Fox Sports or you're legally dead.

not sure what you consider a "cowtown", but have you ever actually been to Boise?

Calgary's nickname is Cowtown, seeing as Boise is in a western, cattle-ranching state, it's probably about the same.

Could be worse. My hometown, Kingston, Ont., is sometimes called Jailtown.
