HOCKEY LAST NIGHT...

Wild 4 Blackhawks 3 (shootout): That's the Minny team we know and love -- the one who never wins a game in the first 60 minutes. Pavol Demitra's shootout winner gives the Wild its first three-game road win streak.

Headlines: Sens sorry after scoreboard stunt (there's two ways to read that); Hockey Day in Canada is getting stale (so sayeth The Globe & Mail); Niagara Falls faces deadline on OHL decision.

Today's better games: Sabres-Bruins, 1 p.m.; Flames-Predators, 6 p.m.; Habs-Red Wings, 7 p.m.; Avs-Sharks, 10:30 p.m.

HOMETOWN BREAKDOWN

Ottawa 67's goalie Brady Morrison was the victim of a stacked Kitchener Rangers team and possibly an overzealous hometown shot counter -- he was pelted with 64 shots in a 7-2 shellacking at The Aud in Kitchener. When was the last time that happened to a Brian Kilrea-coached team?

Apparently everything was coming up Kingston Frontenacs since along with Ottawa, the other mid-pack teams in the OHL's Eastern Conference lost. Of course, trust the Frontenacs not to be playing when they evidently had such great biorhythms.

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
