AFTERNOON LEFTOVERS

  • The Blue Jays are either interested in re-signing Ted Lilly and have talked to the agent of Gil Meche... the price of slightly-above-averageness is going up all the time.
  • Sadly, no surprise here: The NHL is going for the status quo with the schedule. Teams play too many divisional games, and too many games, period, but the league is consistent with its head-in-the-snowbank stance.
  • Is anyone interested in seeing more CIS content here? To be honest, the thought is appealing. It'd be a niche that hasn't been totally filled, and after the football season, it would be neat to develop content on hockey, basketball, track, wrestling, what-not. CIS hockey is one of the best-kept secrets going, by the way.
  • A site I've meant to link to for a while: OHL Arena Guide. Required reading for a junior hockey fan.

Here's a comment on my hometown: "Resistance to change is huge. Kingston is an older, gentrified city and there is a large 'not in my backyard' attitude which combines with inept local city politicians to ensure that nothing ever gets done."

Back with more later. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
