HOCKEY LAST NIGHT: JAGR NETS 600th

As if we're suddenly gonna have a run on Gatorade.

Rangers 4 Lightning 1: Jaromir Jagr no longer has a mullet that beggars language, but he does have 600 career goals, something only 15 other men have done in the long history of the rogues' gallery that is the National Hockey League. Still, Jaromir's mid-'90s hockey hair deserves its own exhibit in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Canucks 2 Blackhawks 1: The upshot for the Canucks is that they're getting some wins despite being at less than full strength, as Josh Green's first goal since last year stood up as the game-winner. Nikolai Khabibulin made 37 saves to give the Blackhawks a puncher's chance. He is so hot right now.

Ducks 6 Coyotes 4: Teemu Selanne decides his 500th career goal can wait as he hands out five assists, setting up two early goals by Andy McDonald and then a natural hat trick by Chris Kunitz.

Tonight's highlights (to me, at least): Tampa Bay at Buffalo, 7 p.m.; Minnesota at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.; N.Y. Islanders at Toronto, 7:30 p.m.

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
