SHORT TUESDAY AFTERNOON TIDBITS

Question: Does Comerica Park face toward Canada? Just asking, since the Blue Jays are throwing Dustin McGowan against the Tigers tonight. On with the show:

  • Once again, the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals can't make a clean break from their dubious past. For years the Cards played in a college stadium. Now that they have their own stadium and a university is the title sponsor, meaning the Cards will play at University of Phoenix Stadium.
  • Oh, Domi ... this morning's post about Tie 'n' Belinda Stronach drew the following Deadspin comment: "Bummer. From the headline, I'd hoped Tie Domi was nailing Belinda Carlisle."
  • From Off Season on Smash: "It's pretty stupid that the Giants didn’t start Tim (Hasselbeck) for yesterday's game against Matt Hasselbeck's Seahawks. Hassel-Bowl, baby! They even wear the same number. Throw in Tim's pseudo-celebrity wife as an emotionally distraught sideline commentator, and this game could've been a monster."
  • Ouch for the Atlantic University Sport football league: This week's CIS football Top 10 doesn't include a single team from the conference in the wake of Acadia giving up 42 points at home to unheralded Sherbrooke last week. (Remember who called it.) The Vert et Or, for the first time in the program's history, are nationally ranked at No. 9.

Back with more sometime after midnight. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.

It is unfortunate that the Jays season is over. I thought they were gonna make the playoffs this year...now what?
