Couple baseball trade stories:
- The Red Sox completed the deal to bring in veteran catcher Javy Lopez from the Orioles for a midlevel prospect.
- Andruw Jones, the veteran Atlanta centre-fielder, was put on waivers but was claimed by another team before the Braves could make a trade. According to ArmchairGM, "The Braves now have until 1 p.m. Saturday to work out a trade with the team that claimed Jones or take him off waivers." Evidently, they want to trade Jones before Aug. 15, when he becomes a 10-and-5 player and has the right to veto a trade.
