OOLF Hot Audio: Evan Robinson

As part of the build-up to one of the biggest games in Kingston junior hockey history, I figured I'd share last Friday's interview with Kingston Voyageurs head coach Evan Robinson, the man whose team has brought pride and excitement back to the birthplace of hockey.

The coach was kind enough to join me on Kingston's most listened-to hourlong sports talk program last Friday at 4. It should be noted, though, that this obviously occurred before their 4-2 win in Game 4 that night, or Sunday night's 5-2 loss.

The Vees host the Oakville Blades in Game 6 tomorrow night at 7:30 at the Invista Centre, with a 3 games to 2 lead in the series. I'll have the play-by-play call with Jon Begg and Mark Potter on TV Cogeco at 9pm on delay.

I should point out that Kingston's other junior hockey team, according to today's Whig, will likely take centre Alan Quine from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

The amusing part is that St. Lawrence of Mediocrity said it was "60-40" that they would take a forward over a defenceman. Two weeks ago, he said it was "70-30." It's like his resistance is being worn down, or he's in the process of committing to taking a shutdown defenceman.

Erik Gudbranson had a goal and an assist in Canada's 4-3 overtime win at the U18s last night, by the way.
