It is unclear how to convince people to vote for this site -- Out of Left Field -- over the likes of Battle of Alberta, James Mirtle's From The Rink, Grant's Tomb and Top Cheddar in the best sports blog category of the Canadian Blog Awards.
Use reverse psychology? ("Do not, repeat do not vote for Out of Left Field.") Offer a dinner date with one of this site's dashing, debonair contributors? Or just put it this way: The voting for Canada's best sports blog is underway and it would be nice to get some support. Go forth and do good work. Paraphrasing William F. Buckley when he ran for mayor of New York City in the 1960s, if we win, I will demand a recount.

congrats! proudly voted
hmmm...decisions, decisions...OOLF or Roddy Pedersen...talk about an official waffling about a call...
"Rod Pedersen ... he looks nice, but is that enough? ... but when Paul McCallum missed the field goal that would've put the Saskatchewan Roughriders into the 2004 Grey Cup, who was at the mike? Rod Pederson. Rod Pederson was also broadcasting when the entire Saskatchewan Roughriders receiving corps — except Rob Bagg — broke their tibias this season. No Queen's football player has ever broken his tibia during a game which Out of Left Field covered ... Rod Pederson: He's bad news.
"Paid for by the friends of Out of Left Field."
You gave the Gee Gees a bit of ink at the beginning of the season ----and look what happened to them--tibias and just about everything else broken----just kidding Neate.

I just can't support a site that has me as a contributor...
Oh, and I talked to, um, that guy I was telling you about Neate. You know, the big guy. Yeah, well, anyway, he's all set. All we need to do is, um, you know, get him the "package" and he'll do that thing that we asked him about. To all of them too. Mirtle twice. So, yeah, we're all set.
reverse psychology works again...
Hmm...the "friends" have a point, but I'll get them a hat for that later.
Right now, I have to decide - D.R. and a Borkowsky versus something else?
Might need a bit more convincing about this....
I'll bite...
3,628 posts in 918 days, at least 2/3 by one guy. Every one of them quality. And uncompromisingly Canadian.
OOLF is a sports blog that is progressive without being preachy, covers women's sports without talking about sex appeal, understands that there is more to sports in this country than hockey (but appreciates the importance of hockey to this country), respects the English language, doesn't use the word "Fuck" as a weapon, can be critical of the MSM without being irrational and continues to evolve every day.
But, the No. 1 reason this blog deserves your vote?
Neate Sager--Canada's best blogger, period--deserves it.
(He also deserved to be nominated for best blog post for his wonderful rant on the coverage of Manny Rodriguez after the trade, but I'll settle for this).
Love the "dinner with one of this site's contributors" line...would that be at one of Nepean's many fine restaurants?
(As I always say, never trust a town if its "fancy seafood restaurant" is across a strip mall from the Bulk Barn.)
As long as it's not dinner with all of them... that would be a crowded table.
I'd like to second what Duane said and that Neate deserves many a vote coming his way for the tremendous work he's doing around here!
Oh, Neate didn't tell you that you were buying Andrew?
Hey...I'd pay for it all...and on my salary you'd get a huge meal at A&W, using all the coupons you want...
Oh BTW Neate...I did vote for you...multiple times...
And D.R. - how often do you write advertorials? because that sure seemed like a good one to me...LOL
