One should not read too, too much into the DirecTV promo for Friday Night Lights, but there's no, what's that game called, football, in it.
It's not a newsflash that FNL got away from the football element after Season 1. Then again, what did Moby Dick really have to do with whaling?
The show's Season 3 premiere is two weeks tonight -- for those of you with DirecTV or a savvy hand with torrents. Everyone else has to wait until after the Super Bowl, which frankly, seems cruel and excessive.
Anyway, the wait will provide ample time to keep workin' on that novel. It's either that or start a screenplay about a nebbishy wannabe writer with a muse who is way out of his league and bears an uncanny resemblance to Minka Kelly.

*sigh* the worst part is that I'll be using my (now limited) bandwidth to be downloading it.
I don't know what's worse... how far from the football the show's gotten, or that I continue to watch it.

That is a weird promo, in that is it going to make anyone watch? People and things glowing is not the best way to attract viewers. :)
