The stuff you might have missed...

It doesn't make a post on its own, but attention should be paid ...

  • Samuel Giguere, the Sherbrooke product, could see some action returning kicks and punts in the Indianapolis Colts' exhibition game on Saturday vs. the Carolina Panthers ...
  • Former Frontenacs forward Todd Griffith has signed with the Mincoffs Newcastle Vipers of the the EIHL, Britain's top flight of pro hockey.
  • A familar name from the Simcoe Reformer days, running back Matt Socholotiuk, is off to play at Fork Union Military Academy in Charlottesville, Va., which has produced its fair share of big-time football players. One of his high school teammates, offensive lineman Henry Lorenzen, is also making the trip south.

Here's an idea of what Fork Union's program can do for a Canadian player. Another offensive lineman from Norfolk County, Austin Pasztor of Langton, Ont., went there last year. He's now earning some good notices as a freshman guard at the University of Virginia.
