Offsides - back on the air edition

After CFRC went off the air for nearly a week, it's finally back with a vengeance as the first spoken word show to return.

On tap this week, the show's ex-co-host Brendan McNamara stops by to discuss Toronto sports, while the roundtable of Neate Sager and Tim Cunningham assembles to discuss the MLB trade deadline, and Larry Mavety's brooding insanity.

Great stuff as always, Tyler, sorry that I passive-aggressively called you a nerd on the air.

Nerd fight!

You were ON today, Neate. From the nerd comeback, to the Jeff Finger ECHL reference. Gold, Jerry, gold!

I just hope I didn't ruffle Tim at all, since he brings a lot more to the roundtable.

Tim is unrufflable, in my experience.

That's what you want in a Coach.

By the way, did everyone see that the Frontenacs made a minor trade -- Thomas Middup to Niagara for a conditional seventh-rounder in 2010.

The upshot is that they seem serious about going with the kids (at least if you struggle with 17- and 18-year-olds, the talk of rebuilding is more plausible). Meantime, Niagara is talking like Middup will be a top-six forward for them.
