ANOTHER ATHLETE DYING YOUNG

Sometimes it's better not to know what football players go through in order to be able to entertain us.

Then you read about a 19-year-old dropping dead, Ereck Plancher from the University of Central Florida (same school where, to bring it home, Kingston's own Taylor Robertson played his college ball before carving out a niche as a guard in the CFL). It's nuts. Is this game worth a human life?

Wow... I can't believe there was another one already. That's the fourth athlete 20 or younger in the last month that I've heard about (wrote a story about the other three in last week's paper): the Sentinel story mentions that four college freshmen from Florida alone have died football-related deaths in the off-season this decade. I wonder if the offseason workout program needs to be looked at?
