LIGHTS HAVEN'T BEEN TURNED BACK ON...

For anyone who's wondering, the end of the Hollywood writers' strike won't necessarily mean any new Friday Nights Lights episodes.

Having the strike end, though, that is like a pass interference call on fourth down that keeps a late drive alive. (See, this is why I could never run for office... the sports analogies are always way too involved.)

They weren't showing much football stuff anymore anyway. Did the Dillon Panthers actually play any games this year? It was becoming like a blue collar version of the O.C., what with all the relationship stories and teen angst. Blech.

In the last episode there was football but Dillon won their game like 45-7 ... but Landry caught a TD pass off a well-designed screen pass.

As a fan who desperately wants this show to stay on the air because their B-minus effort is better than most series' A-plus, I'm willing to take the drama.

Hopefully they dont get rid of it... cause if they do it will probably get replaced by CSI Las Angeles, a new reality show, a new gameshow, or "Friday night poker".

LA can't even get itself an NFL team -- what makes you think they can get a CSI franchise? :-)
