It's probably best not go into what this says about me...
The first response to the Semi-Pro trailer, was to wonder, "So how fair is it to say that the writers basically tried to see if they could mash-up Slap Shot and White Men Can't Jump?"
Three months later, the nice man who reviews movies for the San Jose Mercury News says pretty much the same thing and even references the very same sports-themed comedies -- and that doesn't change plans to go see Semi-Pro (alone, thanks for asking) tomorrow. As Jackie Moon would say, that's just how I roll.

Hey, not every movie has to be A Passage to India. Go enjoy Semi-Pro!
When I was childless and single I went to tons of movies alone and loved it....The Elgin, The Somerset, Queen St., The Bytowne, The Phoenix.....
At the least you'll enjoy Will Arnett, not that I've seen it, but...
