Great story. Hopefully he'll be able to catch on with the big club someday: Greg Sutton's still pretty fragile and getting older all the time, so depth at keeper would be very nice to have. Any word on if he's considering CIS play? I know Djekanovic had success returning to university soccer after the TFC season (only winning the national championship with UBC despite not playing for them all year), so it's not inconceivable that Heembrock might try the same thing.
Not sure if it made the final version, but he plans to play at Dominican College near New York City ... it's NCAA D-2, but apparently they have a very good soccer program, plus it's an excellent liberal arts college.
Ah, missed that... it made the story, but I didn't catch that line. D-2 soccer's pretty good, actually: probably pretty equivalent to CIS-level. It will be interesting to watch his development.
By the way, on the TFC front: apparently they have a rivalry with Columbus now, big enough to warrant the creation of a cup for whoever takes the season series. Who knew?
