BOAL-ING FOR NCAA'S TOP PRIZE

This week's typing in the Sun focuses on Melissa Boal and Lindsay DiPietrio, a pair of Ottawa minor hockey products who are tearing it up with the women's team at Wayne State University in Detroit.

Boal is on the 10-player shortlist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, which goes to the top women's player in the NCAA. Other nominees include some relatively big names such as Canadian Olympians Meghan Agosta and Sarah Vaillancourt as well as Swedish Olympic hero Kim Martin. The story's about Boal, but the hook is she's done this with someone she played with off and on as a kid (alternating years since they're a year apart in age) feeding her the puck.
