LYNX: DOWN'S STARTING TO LOOK LIKE UP

C'est la vie for the Lynx: Pawtucket broke open a tied game with a six-run seventh for a 9-4 win (boxscore, play-by-play), helped along by a run-scoring double from catcher George Kottaras of Scarborough, Ont.

The Lynx and starter Landon Jacobsen, who gave up all nine runs (just five were earned), might have been jinxed after the dread last out of the inning at third base. Jim Rushford was thrown out trying to take third after hitting a run-scoring double in the sixth that cut the Paw Sox lead to 3-2. Instead of hitting with a runner on, Randy Ruiz led off the seventh and homered to tie the game, but no matter for Pawtucket. (It was Ruiz's fourth homer for the Lynx -- at this rate, he could end up leading the team even though he didn't arrive until June 26.)

Gary Burnham went 3-for-4 for the Lynx -- pushing his on-base percentage up to to the .406-.407 range. He and Toronto native Joey Votto are separated by just a few points for third in the International League.

Struggling lefty J.A. Happ (1-4, 5.21, 1.72 WHIP) is slated to faces Pawtucket right-hander Mike Burns (2-6, 4.98, 1.41 WHIP) in today's 12:05 p.m. getaway day game.
