• The Minnesota Twins did something today the Vikings couldn't last year — score 20 against Chicago.
The Twins, who score by ones, beat the White Sox 20-14. The Vikings, playing the game where teams score (mostly) by threes and sevens, scored only 16 and 13 points in their two losses against the Chicago Bears last season.
• Good friend Greg Hughes, who knows from gadgetry, is not overly enamoured of the Apple iPhone.
• Ottawa's Kadie Riverin was Canada's top scorer with 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting in their quarter-final loss today vs. Australia at the FIBA U-21 women's world basketball championship. Canada will finish up with a couple consolation side games. Orleans' Courtnay Pilypaitis, the U of Vermont point guard, has played mostly sparingly during the tournament.
