LYNX: WIN SLIPS AWAY IN NINTH

That must have been a long walk in from the field for the Lynx after Pawtucket's George Kottaras, the Scarborough native, touched up Brian Sanches for a game-winning three-run homer last night.

The Lynx, who slipped into the division basement with the 6-5 loss (boxscore, play-by-play), probably needed that one real bad. They had a chance to bust the game open in the eighth after Jason Jaramillo hit a go-ahead two-run homer for a 5-3 lead, loading the bases with two out, but Pawtucket's Edgar Martinez retired Danny Sandoval to keep the margin at two runs.

Zack Segovia (1-7, 4.92, 1.52 WHIP) faces Paw Sox righty Devern Hansack (1-6, 3.63, 1.23 WHIP) in the final game of the series today. Segovia's due, we feel it.

I think it's gonna get worse before ( or if ) it gets better for the Lynx. There was speculation on ESPN yesterday that the Phillies will call up Durbin to replace Garcia in their rotation.

I'd be shocked if Pawtucket won again tonight.

Good news, Carl Kiffner is reporting that the Phillies are / have called up a pitcher from AA ( as opposed to here ), Kyle Kendrick, to replace Garcia in the rotation. Will the player demoted come here or to Reading?
